RIDE RULES:
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU. THERE IS A RIDE LEADER, BUT YOU MAKE YOUR OWN DECISIONS AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFE OPERATION OF YOUR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. RIDE WITHIN YOUR ABILITIES.
DON'T RUSH OFF AT THE START, ECLIPSING THE RIDE LEADER AS WE ARE LEAVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. OTHER RIDERS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ROUTE NEED TO BE ABLE TO FOLLOW AND NOT GET LOST.
FOLLOW THE ROUTE/RIDE LEADER(S). MOST OF MY WEEKLY RIDES WILL HAVE A CO-CAPTAIN WHO WILL MOVE FROM THE REAR TO THE FRONT OF A SPLIT PACK.
STAGGER, DON'T OVERLAP WHEELS.
WATCH YOUR SIXES OFTEN! (FOR THE COLLOQUIALLY CHALLENGED... THAT'S AHEAD OF YOU AND BEHIND YOU.)
NO BURNOUTS. NONE. NADA. NOPE. DON'T DO IT. Not sure how you all afford the tires, but burnouts shoot rubber and road up on other riders, the smoke hurts lungs, and can block vision. Just don't be that jackass who draws the unwanted attention of the party-light-people. I will ask you to stop, or leave.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO WHEELIE... THAT'S A YOU CHOICE. BUT, DO IT IN AN OPEN LANE - OVER THERE - NOT AROUND OR IN THE PACK OR OTHER RIDERS. Wheelies are considered reckless driving by legal authorities and can cause you - or even the group- to be pulled over... and that's a party-light-party-pooper... THAT damages the reputation of the ride. That is a bad thing. 🫣 DON'T GO BREAKING MY SHIT, MAAAANNNN.
MAKE NICE WITH THE CAGERS, AND SAY HI TO KIDS. POSITIVE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. ("CUTE AND CUDDLY, BOYS. CUTE AND CUDDLY."- PENGUINS, MADAGASCAR MOVIE)
PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD CONDITIONS, AND THE ROAD! WARN OTHER RIDERS OF DEBRIS, HOLES, WATER.
PAY ATTENTION AT LIGHTS, DON'T BE THE PERSON WHO SPLITS THE PACK BECAUSE THEY DON'T PAY ATTENTION.
IF YOU CRASH: IF YOU ARE HURT, CALL 911. IF YOU ARE NOT HURT AND NEED ASSISTANCE, HAVE SOMEONE (OR YOURSELF) CALL THE RIDE LEADER OR ME VIA PHONE OR MESSENGER.
WATCH FOR CANCELLATION NOTICES. WE WILL CANCEL RIDES FOR SEVERE WEATHER: ICE/SNOW, HEAVY RAIN, LIGHTNING, TEMPERATURES UNDER 50 DEGREES AT NIGHT; UNDER 40 DURING THE DAY (PERTAINS TO HOLIDAY AND SPECIAL EVENT RIDES).
IF YOU DECIDE TO PEEL OFF FOR ANY REASON, LET SOMEONE KNOW SO WE KNOW NOT TO WAIT OR LOOK FOR YOU AT MID-POINTS. (GET SOMEONE'S ATTENTION. POINT AT YOURESELF AND DO THE "I'M DONE" SIGN -A.K.A. CUT-THROAT GESTURE - AND WAVE BYE -BYE... SOME YA'LL ARE OVERSENSITIVE -AHEM- SO THAT'S AS SIMPLY AS I CAN EXPLAIN IT.)
